Making soap and cosmetics isn’t all about lawsuits and regulations … it’s also about the art, creation, and chemistry. Let’s step away from the rules and regs for a bit and look into the fascinating world of soap chemistry.

I don’t make soap often now – just a couple times a year for myself and for gifts. (Yes, my family STILL gets soap for Christmas!) Even now, after over 25 years of making soap, I still love watching the lye water and oils blend together, come to trace, and turn into soap.

Yes, I know it’s just chemistry … but still, magic.

This lady, Hannah Fry, is a British mathematician, bestselling author, and broadcaster who serves as the Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. She’s also known for her explanations of everyday things.
