FDA Updates Cosmetic Direct

FDA Cosmetics Direct Logo

The FDA announced today that they have added two new features to Cosmetics Direct, the portal for registering cosmetic facilities and listing cosmetic products.

The new features provide the ability to UN-list a product that has been discontinued and to RE-list a product that is being put back on the market.

This will come in handy if you currently list–or plan to list–your products, or if you do private label for a company (whose name is on the label) that isn’t exempt as a small business.

Product listing must be made within 120 days of the product being put on the market. There aren’t any specifications about when to unlist a product when it’s taken off the market except that updates must be made annually.
